That is 100% correct and also 100% irrelevant. The point was they are not passing all of the discount along. Therefore in a way for each gallon of fuel a driver there buys. If they use thier fuel card they are actually paying the company.

All CRST leases (STI, Malone) are a scam. When all those gold CRST expedited team trucks you are always passing go out of warranty, they scam them off on driver's ("be your own boss, zero down", etc). Bottom line; they charge the hapless driver .14 cents/ mile ~$17,000/year) maintenance! Then when the 500,000 mile truck breaks, they keep you waiting for weeks before they decide if they want to fix it or not (hoping the Dr will just quit instead). And the fuel discount is a flat .12 cents at the major truck stops only, whereas CRST gets a .40-.50 cent per gal discount. So CRST pockets the difference every time you fuel .45 cents - .12 cents = .33 cents per gallon = approx $8200.00/ year per truck.

That is MOSTLY correct. $17,000 a year is 128,528 miles. Nobody or hardly anybody is driving that. ($12,000-,14,000) or 80-100,000 miles, would be closer to accurate.
Waiting for weeks to decide on repairs is incorrect also. But they will tell you where to take it.
Drivers are in demand so if repair takes an extended time, the fleet will put you in a Penske. Also they are offerning brand new trucks.

However looking at the terms. The saying bending you over and not even giving a reach around, doesnt even begin to describe the horror.

But that fuel discount rip off scam you described is 100% totally corrcet.
Dont no about malone but sti is a good company yo lease onto. However best if you bring your own truck.

I have friends who have been leased there for 15-20 years or so.
But I am not, and never was a lp at crst sti.
I was however a bed bugger leased on to north American van lines for many years. Back when sti was still the hvp (high value products) division of navl.
I did a few loads of sti/hvp back then. But have since changed colors and went to a different van line.
But each time unigroup pisses me off. That is the first place I think of going.

  7. that was the STI back in the day when they got bought out by CRST was only a matter of time until they were flushed totally down the toilet.
yeah when they were part of the navl up there in Fort Wayne that was a good place 2B they treated you right..
just like Clark, janco and all those show movers except for those idiots with upstaging lol.
    they've
always been morons they hire the reckless fools always have..
but yes I tried to tell people if you're going to think about specialized transport cuz maybe some kin work there prior to the CRST buy out now you better think twice because it is forced dispatch which is ridiculous and a whole bunch of other nonsense that goes with it

    Wow forced dispatch, "f" that!!
I still have friends there. They are always trying to talk me into coming over. I tell them to go here.
But they never once mentioned forced dispatch. But they been there so long, dealing with the same dispatch and planners. So it probably doesnt pertain to them.

  9. either that or what they're offered just basically fits them to it may be forced dispatch what it's like well we got a load going to LA from Boston do you want it??
well like yeah.. okay then you get me a load after that to Florida??
next thing you know they deliver to say a trade show out there in Anaheim or Long Beach to the convention center and they reload up another one at like Freeman over in Santa Fe springs headed for Orlando they don't you get stuff like that and that's what you want to do forced dispatch is fine as long as you got a dispatcher that works with you..
show the old STI guys that came over from NAVL days probably like you said they get offered great stuff they could be forced dispatch but there's really no reason to turn it down

Well you know what CRST stands for? Clowns Really Screwing Truckers.

  11. well that used to be known as the cedar rapids stunt truck when they first got the Volvos back in the day in the mid-2000s the VN series and people were rolling them over like crazy cuz didn't know how to drive the full air ride and the way the Volvo rode was a lot different than those POS Colombia's..
they had many teams recklessly driving and rolling those Volvos over..
pretty much for me though it's always stood for Caution Real Sorry Truckers..

    FlaSwampRat Thanks this.
