Nobody uses CB in Canada much anymore. Its all VHF for the most part nowadays it seems.

Yes automatically a vehicle impound, drivers license suspension, and a court date before a judge if caught 40 (about 25 mph ) or more kms/hr over the speed limit.

You should have seen highway 63 out of Fort Mac about 8 years ago during the boom. Shift change days the morons would drag race to see who could get to Edmonton the fastest. They caught one guy doing about 220km/h.

VHF radios in almost all trucks here, but no CB radios. The CB radio was a fad about the 1970s. Many companies have their own private channels, on logging roads you better be on that road channel and listening for the loaded trucks coming out and get out of their way or else die. On the hwy you can listen to LAD 1 or LAD 2 the trucker chat channel's, but they usually tire me out within 5 minutes with their BS. I have a VHF radio in every truck, for entertainment satellite radio to listen to, and for emergencies a Satellite phone in every truck.
Oh and speeding here doesn't just hurt the driver with fines and points....it also has an effect on the companies motor carrier license. Getting a speeding ticket in one of my trucks and you best have a really good excuse why you were speeding. Last person to get one was lucky he only got a 90 day unpaid suspension from me, not fired....i cut him some slack because he had been with me a long time and zero infractions before that...he was on notice that another ticket was immediate termination though. Drive under the speed limit and I am fine with it, but speeding is not tolerated.

What part of BC are you in. Northern BC there is very little chat on Lad1. It is what we run, but just not a lot of chat, Lad 11 is waht the scale houses in Yukon runs, so we don't go there except to give them our info so we don't have to stop, if we have a Yukon tag.
Myself and 1 other log truck, which is gone now is the only ones that had vhf radios. there is not a lot of us here and I tried to get the others to get them, but it was a no go, we do all run the same channel USUALLY on the cb, but it still is not the best. Satellite radios do not work everywhere up here, and it may be better now, but they didn't used to work in the yukon or northern BC either.
I used to keep a satellite phone with me, and should get it turned back on, since I started running north some again.

I am in Southeast BC, the Trans Canada hwy is actually about 3 minutes drive from my house. Technically I am not in any town, but 4 minutes driving and I hit the welcome to Revelstoke sign.

I am assumong that would be hwy 1, which I have been on, but not close to revelstroke that I am aware of.
That is some beautiful country up there though, but then I like rough country.

Yes Hwy 1 that runs across Canada, it goes right through Revelstoke. Revelstoke is approximately 220 kms east of Kamloops BC, and 400 kms west of Calgary Alberta.
