I wonder how many people just sign, thinking it is like every other state and just think it is acknowledging the ticket?
-
I wonder how many of the tickets are properly presented for the signing and explained correctly.

i got a speeding ticket in New Mexico and when i was presented with the ticket and told to sign in the box acknowledging my guilt i was like hmm thats new, but i signed it, and payed the fine as soon as i could.

My point exactly.

Shortly after I was married I got a ticket and wrote on it. "Guilty with Justifiable Cause."
Judge thru the ticket out. No points, No fine, No Foul.
I was taking my wife to the hospital after falling, She was Pregnant with child! -
Ok, so what about the driver quoted in the article. He/she said he/she would be arrested and go to jail if he/she did not sign the penalty box. Granted you could fight it and probably win, but at what expense to you, your employer and/or the company your hauling for. You get arrested, your load and, if your an o/o your truck, sits on the side of the road until someone else can come pick it up. And what happens to YOUR truck if your an o/o? They've pretty much got you over a barrel. Pay the fine or suffer the expenses involved with the above scenario. Simply paying the fine is probably the cheapest route and they know it.
