why would I retire it? I just started working it. Trucks never wear out as long as you keep them maintained. I guarantee everything on my truck has been rebuilt or replaced more then once. It's still cheaper then a $2k a month truck payment
-
good point and its always nice to see an older truck on the road specially an old pete

How much in serious maintenance am I looking at to get a reliable piece of machinery, MM? Oh, and how do you pass emission standards and all that junk? Can I buy an old cheap truck and rebuild it "like new?" Obviously not like the real thing, but close and reliable...?
I heard something about EPA duking it out to make 1999 trucks get some new exhaust pipe that reduces C02. Strange... they never test my C02 when I'm kicking out 6 minute mile pace down the country road. -
Pretty sure they're talking about an in-frame overhaul... $10k+
Try not to think about it... -
pharm my inframe will run about $10k. one of these new motors can easily run $20k
there is no emissions anywhere but CA, not yet anyways. screw CA, let them starve. you should see the cool old iron they are scraping. it's on youtube
for $80k I can get you a better then new 359 pete. and it's a number classic too -
lol im sure phil wanted to hear that MM. u prolly got him shaking in his boots with that '05 engine of his lol
-
If it blows out on the road $20k is very likely. that's with the 25% "you aint got a choice" tax.
Welcome to trucking
