I own my truck as well. Every company that I have leased to has had a clause in the contract concerning no firearms.
I also go to Canada twice a month. No firearms allowed.

Still not what I was asking. Do you think a person or a persons family would have a legal right for litigation against a company due to their policy preventing them from protecting themselves. If you were on the jury how would you vote?
-
I answered this a long time ago.
Even if you could find an attorney stupid enough to try, it would not happen.
There is no law broken.
It is like saying when I worked in the office in the capital city and they prohibited guns in the office. What if someone walked in and shot someone. What law was broken.
If I was on the jury, they would have to prove a law was broken.
What it comes down to, the company is not responsible for where you park. I know this is sad, but true.
Most of the companies want to have you sleep at the docks. We saw what happened to the truck driver named Jason in March. Nothing happened to the company. The receiver was more guilty than the company. -
sodbuster03 Thanks this.

I personally have never worried where I slept. Will this change in the future, who knows.
Since I travel to Canada rather frequently, I cannot have a weapon in the vehicle.
I have seen the other end of shootings and have no interest in firearms. Personal and professional opinion. -
A law does not have to be broken for someone to be found liable. Remember OJ is innocent. In that line of thinking I would not be liable if some idiot fell of my porch & wanted to sue, because no law was broken.
I'm not up on Jason's story but just the interpretation of your post leeds me to belive the reciever must be liable if they had one of the famous signs.

I have been on both ends of a shooting in the past. & Trust me there is only one winning side in those situations. They armed & the unarmed. I'm not going into details but lets just say there is one carjacker in orlando that won't walk up to an H2 window again. & I still have my on life as well as my wife & kids.
Just curious why can't you have a weapon in canada? Must be a CMV thing, or a new law in the last 3 years. That was the last time I hunted in canada.

More of that to come...
-
I do believe it's pistols you're not allowed to have in Canada.
sodbuster03 Thanks this.
