My best friend graudated from driving school a few years ago and went to work for them. they treated him good and he stayed there for 3 yrs. they have nice equipment and a good training program for flatbedding. This is all i can tell you hope it helps.
-
Also keep in mind that no matter how good a company is you will have some nay sayers and kiss *sses. Not every company is right for everybody.
-
Thanks Big Country, been offered a job there,also Werner. Been reading horror and good about both. Iguess it's what you make of it .

Well I have heard good and bad about both as with almost every company out here. The one thing I can tell you is what i said above about TMC. As far as werner goes they have some happy drivers but way more unhappy that i have talked to. I would advise run for the hills to stay away from werner if possible. I know a guy who is stuck in training right now at Werner that was right oiut of school and they have kept him with a trainer for 5 months now at $300 a week because they said they have no dispatcher available for him. They told him either stay with a trainer or go home. I told him to find another job and then quit. all they are doing is getting cheap labor from him because they run them like a team. Not only that he said his trainer will not allow him to use his cellphone except on Sunday when they stop to shower for the week
he said that is Werner company policy for trainees. Just FYI. I would go with TMC if it were me but I wish you the best either way.

Pretty much everything in this TMC thread is accurate good and bad. Some people are in bad areas and don't have freight so when they say they are sitting for a couple days at a time it's true, some people like myself are in good areas for freight and are running pretty non-stop. The threads about the mass layoff back in January were true and a lot of the people who were laid off then were laid off for being in a slow area not for being bad drivers. The comments about the nice equipment are true, the comments about drivers being nickled and dimed to death are true, the comments about orientation sucking are true. Basically the vast majority of what's in this forum on TMC is true both good and bad, both can and do coexist. I've been in my own truck here for about 12 weeks and I've run 24,500 miles, about 85% of them paid. It seems like good miles to me, and to others that would be low miles. Some of us get lots of home time, I've been able to get home all but one weekend I wanted and a few I didn't want, again this really depends on where you live so some people who complain about not getting any home time are telling the truth but they likely live in a bad area to get home. What I'm trying to say is it's not one or the other, two people telling entirely different stories on TMC can both be telling the truth, it all depends on where you are coming from, literally. North Carolina I'm not sure about, I've pulled a load out of there but my area is mainly west of the Blue Ridge.

cplmac2 - can you tell me if you know if Dallas is a good area to run freight for TMC? I realize things change, just trying to get a feel on how it might be for me in a couple of months (that is if I can stay off the grass
)

I can only tell you that I've heard Texas as a whole is not good, but I've pulled plenty of freight to and from Texas so I'm not really sure. There are some TX TMC drivers on here but I know some of them have left due to lack of freight. Wish I could tell you I knew but really aside from what I've pulled there I can't and now that I think about it I've pulled to TX but not from it. Usually I get bounced somewhere else from TX.

There is not alot of frieght coming out of Texas for anybody right now. I had a friend who sat down there for 3 1/2 days to get a load just a few weeks ago.

DH is on a dedicated account with TMC in Texas. If you're on dedicated, it's pretty good. Even linehaul was okay while he was on it. Houston, however, sucks either way. I will say that it seems the dedicated guys have preference when in that area, so get loaded faster than line haul.
FYI, we are in the DFW area.
