That is a pretty poor way to make a big decision.Proper research is important for success.

If he can get a APU w/o sacrificing weight, could he have it serviced when his TK reefer goes in for servicing at the same dealer?
Luis,
I am doing the proper research rather taking the no thrills approach; Getting a truckers advice for a fellow truck driver who wants to cut idle aire cost. If he can get a APU and save half of the money he currently spending, then he probably will do it if he has proof. You do not go and buy something without doing research on it. Only someone who lacks common sense does that bonehead move.
KHlonelyswmtrucker Thanks this. -
And proper research would help a bit lol. Oh i don't lack common sense i dun gotz a brain which i use.

Your being lazy KH, you've actually posted in some of the APU discusions.
If you'll use the "Seach This Forum" feature provided by this site you'll find numerous thread discusions about APU's.
Its located over there >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>^^^^^Luis Thanks this. -
Well this was a waste of time.
-
and some times thats even the point loius......we all come on this forum to waste time, just not one anouthers, which some of your recent posts have been doing
KH, yes you were being lazy, but im sure now you have at least begun to read the "other" threads about this
if he wants to save wieht, pony pack is the lightest......a guy can get a refurbed black rock, installed in ok city for under $5k
but niether is cheaper (idleair or apu)....apu is just more convienant -
How much is the Idleair? is it an hourly charge? Can you by a "package plan" XXX hours $50, xxxxx hours $100 ? or am I thinking of something different?
-
Even if Idleair is cheaper, they don't have it on the side of the road or in a Home Depot parking lot..

My "apu" is a 500 CAT. In hot weather it blows frigid ice cold air. In cold weather it blows heat that will make you sweat.
I'm the odd one here, I know. I'm just so glad to not have spent thou$and$ of dollars on something that does a semi half assed job of heating/cooling, adds 400+ pounds, and would give me mechanical/electrical problems on top of it.
This kinda works against me in todays anti idle comunistic states, but hey, it's just one more law that gets _____.nevuloso Thanks this.
