You can inframe a C15 for about $2600, if you wanna put a head on it then about $4000, the $2600 is cylinder packs, O rings for liners, rod and main bearings, and head gasket kit. This is if you gotz skillz dat killz and can do it yourself.
People who say CAT is expansive have no idea, compare parts prices of the isx and come talk to me. The great MedicineMan once told me, whats the point of it being cheap when i have to work on it everyday, yes cummins power. What i like about CAT is i check the oil run 5k miles, shut the door and go home, then do it all over again and it keeps pumpin.

2. Even that is no sure thing- Multiple lawsuits are in progress.

Think about all the crap you could replace for $2k a month... -
And that was a private conversation thank you very much!!!!

I am going to admit I haven't the slightest clue what "inframe" means. It may bw the answer to my above question. If so, let me know! -
Inframe means a complete engine tear down with the block still in the frame..... Good luck with getting it done at the TA LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I don't think a TA is set up to do that stuff... oil changes and bulbs mostly.
in-frame= motor is still in the truck when they service what they can get to. Out of Frame = the motor is taken out to be completely reconditioned. -
I have the price list for Detroit Series 60 engines and will post it when I get back down to my truck.
If I remember, the basic inframe starts around $7,000 and that includes pistons, rings, sleeves and rod bearings. After that you can add in a new turbo, head and other options. It takes a week or less if you can get to a Detroit Diesel shop that specializes in rebuilds. -
Most of the time the only time they do out of frames is when the block needs to be swapped, you can rebuild any motor in frame completley, as long as the block is good there is no need for a out of frame, well unless you drive one of them vacuum cleaner trucks and 3/4 of the engine is under the dash.
