Service brake air leak, need some suggestions

    I have 2017 Western Star with DD15 power train. When the service brake is applied I hear and feel air escaping from under the steering column. This happens with bobtail only or with trailer attached. The brake pods seem to be in good shape upon inspection. I'm running short on ideas what could be causing this, any feedback would be appreciated.

    I would guess a loose fitting on a air line in the area..or a poorly routed line that has rubbed on sharp edge. Gonna have to take apart to find it. You or whoever have fun. Shouldn't be that bad to get to though really.

    Found the issue in case someone finds this thread in the future. Air leak was coming from air brake lights switch, a $20 part but a pain in the ### to chase down behind dashboard assemblies.

    Was it just loose, or split and leaking. Thanks for the update. Had a new truck years (30) ago and it developed a air leak due to a poorly routed plastic air line.

    Busted diaphragm, the air is leaking around the contact terminals.
