    :biggrin_255:Well, people, I survived 32 years of trucking, both local and OTR. I survived all the B.S. from dispatch/shippers/consignees/weather/police agencys/fuel stops/junky equipment/construction zones/rude shop personnel/inconsiderate drivers/inept payroll folks/being ripped off from carriers/and loads of low lifers that congregate around truck stops.

    And I have to tell you, after 13 months of retirement, I miss the road ! I actually miss accounting for every hour of the day, them dirty showers, long fuel lines, erractic sleep, noisy/dirty truck stops and rest areas and especially sitting in my truck at a consignee, staring through the windshield, listening for my truck number to be called for a door assignment to unload, 3 hours past my appointment time.

    So, I have joined this site to keep up with the goings on in the biz, and hopefully, I'll get a daily dose of just enough to remind me that I really don't miss it THAT much, as I sit in my easy chair with an adult beverage at hand wondering where I put the "clicker".

    Hey and Howdy Allow me! Welcome to the forum. Dang-it looks as if you will fit right in... Your sure to get your dose or fix here... What else is there to do as we sit at some crummy so called truck stop, and tap away on the computer... Yep you sure will find all the stuff you thought you would miss here, except the endless hours behind the wheel. Again I say Welcome! I do look forward to reading some of your stories here. After all what else do I have to do??? Not many real truck stops to trash around in these days, I for one do not like the travel plazas... :biggrin_25512: They should just start calling them a casino. Designed to separate a man from his money, and they do it well!!!
