First, I'm amazed at the fact my dash cam has proven what I actually saw wasn't what I thought I saw.
I really thought that I had hit a goat..

Anyway, here is a short clip of what I think is a deer in PA that ran into my truck. It hit my drives and went under my trailer tandems. I didn't swerve but drifted left while looking in the mirror and watched it go under, laden with 43k lbs of potatoes..there wasn't a need to stop. No time to even get off the throttle..

One of the disadvantages of driving nights..

Had the same thing happen to me on IL-48 late last year. Deer ran out of the woods and right under my drives, can’t even imagine what his remains looked like afterward. Had 42K and 22K of hazmat so I wasn’t about to slow down or stop. Was shocked there was no damage when I got back to the terminal.

I have hit several over the years, hit a caribou last month, dumbest animals ever.
I had a deer run out of the woods and over the tire but under the headlight of my honda once. I was not even sure what I hit till I got stopped.
Funniest one hit me in the side of a blazer, a big old mule deer buck kept running towards me, I went to the oncoming lane and even off in the ditch before it hit. It hit right at the passenger front door post, spun around and hit right behind the door, what made it funny is this was my old fourwheeling rig with no top and no doors. My son in law was in the passenger seat, but vacated it as it looked like that thing was coming right on in with us to start with.

Ha! Adios, you miserable POS. Shmeared it good, I bet. Guts on the landing gear? Sorry, got no love for deer, and you did the motoring world a favor, this is one that won't end up in a windshield. They do a TON of damage, many incidents go unreported. In Colorado, there's huge packs, they have no real enemies, limited hunting, they roam through our city, they breed like rats, "aw, aren't the little ones cute"? All the tree huggers say,,yeah, until they end up in your lap, spittin' glass,, not so cute now, eh?
I tell ya', I wouldn't drive a truck today without a deer guard, send them into next week. My only concern with those, is most deer crossings are on 2 lanes, and I'd be afraid I'd knock one into an oncoming car.

At least it was a doe. Them antlers on a bull do interesting things to tires.

no damage to the radiator, tires, nothing, but cosmetics.

called the boss when i got back, no need to wake him up, he worked LONG hours....

took the truck right over to Penske when i got back, later that night for my next shift, had a loamer truck waiting for me...

so yeah, those antlers do some strange things....

I smacked 2 whitetail in NE earlier this year... One went under the right headlight and tires... Second one was following the first and tried to turn away, but slipped on the pavement and went under the trailer. Amazingly enough there wasn't hardly a scratch from either.

I hit 3 deer in just a little over a week in Texas. The only damage was the front bumper. I put some of those deer whistles on it that I had seen sold in years and they worked. Deer would stand still and just watch me go by, instead of running.
A month or so later, I put some on my T 800 that I had a driver in, bragging about how they worked. The very next morning he called and said a deer knocked the new whistle off the right side. lol
