Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Im not concerned if they allow me to park for the night here, always keep food in my truck.

 

I’m flexible... he’s seeing what they have... if this place would let me stay on site, I told him I’d take a 34 here... back in Chicago, again... but fairly close to the Museum of Science and Industry... so I’d Uber over to it for the day and come back here for the second 10...

But I told him I could use my 4 to “get out of dodge”... maybe straight south to visit my mom for dinner then head to Indy from there... either after a 34 or use my 11, 8, 9 that coming back around...

But, like I said, I’m fairly flexible...
so, I’ll see what they send me...

Oh, ya... Chicago... another interesting trip in the big city... this time through tight ### side streets... not sure what my gps was afraid of on that nice straight road but it didn’t like it at all.

But, so far, so good... see if I can get out next.

 

Yesterday I stop for my 10 at a loves truck stop I walk in and herd the music playing it was "The Bee Gees" the song of "Saturday night fever"... And out of nowhere comes this woman dancing to the music! I found that funny and smile... I went to purchase a Subway sandwich and there she comes again!!!
She stands behind another guy and says "I'm watching you guys" then she lifts her dress!!! Not a pretty sight!! I pay for my sandwich and run to my truck much faster than speedy Gonzalez the mouse or the road runner put together!
I'm not dealing with the nut case! Come to find out she was a truck driver!
OMG! The things we see out here!

 

I’d be okay with the dancing part, but the other, whoa!

 

Would be a different story if it was a pretty site.

 

So last night I was walking this parking lot to see if anything was open besides the Walgreens... was approached by a guy saying he’s down on his luck, unemployed, etc... oh and it’s his 54th birthday (nice touch)... I, yes mistakenly, ask what does he need... just some money for food... I look up at the Walgreens and offered to buy him some basics... he shook his head (a bit in disgust) and said it was too expensive to shop there... I just smiled, shook my head, and laughed to myself...

While I DO appreciate being frugal with my money, he obviously wasn’t too hungry nor too down on his luck... LOL

 

The loser wanted some good booze or drugs.

 

Well, it was his 54th Birthday... lol

 

Get a call from chris saying they lost communication with my NOx sensors and yup I had gotten check engine light and messages about after treatments faults. Engine fully derated on my 10 at love's I was at and put it in the shop there and no codes came up. They cleared stuff and tightened and put a new nut my ground cable on my batteries and got to RVA shop and they just think it was the loose cable tripping everything. Due in Yakima next week for home time and got a load going to Aberdeen Washington. Chris told me to recap it so Im recapping it out there starting tomorrow morning. Hate recapping it, Id rather be able to run hard going west....Next 4 days aren't bad what I gain but after that it sucks....but looking forward to a few days off since I run 5-6 weeks at a time.

 

You know a Weigh Station has been closed for a bit when the weeds have grown up to the point of almost completely obscuring the “Closed” Sign... lol
