The IRS did investigate via the Taxpayer Advocate Division, and did nothing. The company claimed I never worked for them. I am in the process of writing a response to the IRS and plan to include copies of my W-2 and settlement sheets, maybe this will get a result. Besides tax fraud, they exploited me by paying me subpar wages, consistently paid me less than male drivers with similar experience, and retaliated when I complained about a male co-driver who was putting my health at risk. Also, they lied to the Department of Labor and said I resigned when I did not. I have proof of all this. Incidentally, I confided in another driver about the situation and their advice was “quit whining.” Hypothetically, would a man put up with this kind of treatment?
I need a good tax lawyer.

Another point. If my earnings were not reported to IRS what about the FICA that I will not get credit for.
-
then you have at least 2 different compliaints..
1) the unequal pay, take that up with the EEOC people
2) the taxes.
a man would just up and quit, maybe even park the truck someplace and get home.
it's gonna cost you money to hire a lawyer, and i cannopt see anyone doing your situation on a "pro-bono" basis, there wouldn;t be anything for him/her to collect on.
this just means you will not get much of a tax refund, welcome to the club on that.
not much else anyone can do or say, you have been given "some" advice/suggestions.
good luck in your future, you will do better.Curdog1 Thanks this. -

Yes I did take it up with EEOC who said I had a valid case, however I “sucked it up” and backed off because I did not want to get blacklisted. I thank you all for your input I have to agree to disagree with you all but not in anger. I will write my letter that is all I can do. Again, thank you. You are all awesome.

If you still have contact info for any of the co-drivers that you think will back you up, give their info to the IRS. A few phone calls confirming by third party, may get the ball rolling on a proper investigation.
Also, how could you "resign" if you didn't work for them? Think on that. They have already admitted to your state unemployment office that you were employed just by making that statement.Curdog1 Thanks this. -
Yes I know.
-
Yes, thank you. The taxes are just the tip of the iceberg. This companies lies to DOL, IRS, forces other driver to cheat on ELogs, discriminates, all with impunity.
-
And yes I do have contact info for all the old co-drivers, most of which have left the company.
-
the burden of proof is on you.
got time..??? money...??
best of luck to you.
buddyd...outrachi and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
