Close to KC? Cheap labor with a great warranty.....better than most dealerships..........
But if not, I'd be happy to give some service advice....as far as cheap parts....Kansas City Freightliner........or...............I can't remember their name
man, i can picture the owner......oh well, I can call my old boss if you're interested in a good deal.

if u got the money and going to keep the truck u should look at having a dealer overhaul it.. with a detroit step 3 overhaul u get a 2 year 200,000 mile warrenty, that also includes warrenty on the bull gear and gear train. which usually don't last over a million miles. and i also believe for $750 more u can get that extended to a 3 year 300,000..

I sed to work for freightliner and the step3 was a good deal with the extra warranty. they used to be required to dyno it to get the extended warranty not sure if it it still required. also it may be transferable if you sell it. also check on getting if uped tgo a none multi torque/ hp a staright 470 . find out if the teck with drill out you fuel fittings put in hot codes. insist on 180 thermo stats

Consider this - Trade the truck in and get something else, or put a drop in engine in it. With that mileage you are due for complete overhaul and bullgear. If it were me, I would trade the truck in, or put a complete drop-in engine in it depending on how good of shape the rest of the truck is. Drop-in will be more $ than over-haul and bullgear, but with a drop-in you get much more anyways. Such as new oil cooler, wire harness, sensors, all gear bushings and bearings, all new seals and gaskets (like front and rear main). These are a lot of the things that don't get touched during an overhaul to keep the cost down. Another thing to consider is the down time. With an overhaul and bull gear you are looking at 50-60 hours labour. An engine swap could be as low as 20, so you are back on the road making money quicker. Also too, if your truck is due for a clutch, when changing an engine you can get the clutch installed basically for free labour, that will save you money. It is something to think about!
