Really muscle bound men and women that look great can be very unhealthy in areas other than muscle. I don't take any supplements other than once in a while a multi-vitamin, and my bp med. I have never tried a protein shake. I just happen to like beans prepared in various ways, nuts and other combinations of protein rich vegetables, although I respect that others don't. I don't have any type of vitamin deficiency so I guess meat is not a factor in what I choose to eat.

That's wonderful. This is a way of life for me also, a life with glorious meat!

Sorry, eating "clean" doesn't include PIG! I do get sick of chicken though...eat several a week. Fish is too expensive and I'm not fast enough to catch rats.

Nana, you sound just like my family. They are big animal lovers, because, they say, animals taste good with french fries, lol.

    GAPrincess and Baack Thank this.

Why yes, that's all I ever eat; meat and french fries. I absolutely never touch a veggie.

Actually there are people out in the world (and I am one) who eat pretty healthfully in addition to meat. Now I have in the past had a huge problem with portion control and sweets. But that is indeed the past.

That was the last great evolutionary leap in the history of early man. The ability to digest meat. More calories per ounce than vegetables. That means we didn't need big stomachs anymore. This led to being able to walk faster and grow bigger brains. Have you seen most herbivores in the animal kingdom? They're either small and live short lives or they have huge guts, often more than one. Plant matter is hard to digest. Most meat eaters are fast, muscle bound predators(well I'm not sure what the elephant seal's excuse is).

I know it's a personal thing, but think about it: what is the worldwide universal symbol for fatness? Yep, the ignoble PIG.
Why was the pig relegated in biblical times as the lowest of the low? Anyone who's raised them or had to feed them knows.

I do admit that ham steaks and certain cuts are leaner than some cuts of beef, for instance. But I've had to slop hogs before, and I just won't miss meat made from sh17.
Hypocritically, I love fried chicken livers now and then. And I know a liver is a filter, albeit very high in protein.
