Hello-
I have 3 trucks and drivers Iam currently leasing to a small mom and pop outfit that book loads on load boards. I wanted to ask someone if I would be better off getting my own authority and booking off the boards. Or should I just lease on to which of the two companies I am currently talking to CRST Malone or Landstar. My trailiers are flat beds? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
what to do with my trucks?

You could always do one and compare performance.
Do you own your trailers?
I think it would cost about 15k to get them all insured and tagged, so that's a consideration as well. -
yes I own my own trailers well me and the bank own the whole set up!

I have been researching Malone and like CRST expedited they are alarmingly aggravating, I worked for expedited for a short time so I know about that mess. Landstar, I leased to them and they were wonderful, except the rates were very poor generally off of the board, I have been told that the rates and the loads are down from that even, I want to go back, but Man, there has to be some where a person can make a living and still afford to make payments and repairs on their truck!
I am at a loss, I truly do not know which way to turn, on top of all of this I have an older truck, runs very well, as good or better than most, and nobody wants to lease it on! -
Check with cardinal transportation out of coal city ,il. I worked for an o/o with 3 trucks ,and we all did good there
