Power steering problem.

I haven't actually seen that issue before personally (engine oil going into the power steering system). I would say its likely you'll need to replace the power steering pump. I'd take my suggestion with a grain of salt though. Someone will chime in shortly I bet to confirm or deny it.

I worked in a shop with a lot of 4070B's. They had around 800.000 miles on them and did that fairly regular ( motor oil in P/S that is ) overflowing from the reservoir. They had us put new seals in pumps with badly worn shafts. Never had a problem with one. Possibly the new seal lip was in a different spot?
Personally I would just replace the pump. It is only steering. -
Right, like BoxCarKidd said, it is likely the shaft seal of the pump itself. You can replace it, but usually the shaft has worn a groove where the seal lip was riding and because of that may leak again. So it is just best to replace the pump since you have to remove it anyway.

Anyone know how many hours kw shop should take to replace powersteeeing/fuel tandem pump!!

I have a 2006 kenworth t800 this morning I was going to work and noticed that it is super hard to steer to the right steering to the left is good but steering to the right seems impossible

Either the poppet relief for that direction is stuck open or the gear is internally leaking past the piston seals in that direction, or the rotary control valve has failed for that direction. All in the gear. Replace the gear with a reman unit.

Just replaces the pump and nothing. Made sure everything is well greased but the problem continued. I will look into replacing the gear tomorrow, but out of curiosity I notice that when I turn the wheel there’s a cracking noise near the driver wheel could the kingpin cause the steering issue?
