We used to have a steel bridge here in Maine. The locals called it "the singing bridge". Two tractor trailers could not cross at the same time in opposing directions. It was only 26 feet wide. Yet trucks would often loose side mirrors on it. It has been replaced for some time now. The legislature for the state kept putting it off. Senator Susan Collins found a way to get the money for it. She had the entire legislature come and ride in several school busses crossing the bridge. One set in one buss, the other set in another buss. They only did it once and refuse to see it again.

I am grateful it is now gone, as well as many other locals. It was built in 1924. The repairs on it required that the state had to repair it every 3-4 months

That is a very tight bridge. Its not bad if both trucks slow down. But if one truck is barreling down your lucky he missed you.

LOL, Icy flat railroad car bridges, they are never perfectly level and can get dicey with ice on them. Bridges we build out of some logs we cable together. Ice bridges we just build with a water pump.
I have been on many sketchy bridges.
I can not see deciding not to take a certain route again, because I almost had an accident there once, if a guy does that and drives long enough, he will eventually not be able to get out of his driveway.

Some of thehigh and long bridges in northern BC on the Alaska Hwy, are old bridges with metal grate decks that sags when you drive over them feels like you are falling through all the way across.
The old one lane bridges on the cassier built back during the war, one was at the bottom of a steep grade with a switch back curve leading on to it and was a whopping 9 foot wide. These bridges on the cassier have been replaced since they sissified the road.

Pretty soon we can all claim the I 80 bridge that crosses the Des plains river in Joliet,
I-80 structurally intolerable claims many engineers

From what I understand, nearly all bridges are in bad need of rebuilding according to engineers.
