Hello all. My problem is that my company that I drove for shut down it's operations and laid all personal off. I'm having a hard time finding a company that will hire me now because they can't verify my driving record with my company. My company did not subscribe to DAC.
I have my separation notice and W2. There is nobody around at my previous employer to contact. I've been looking for employment for 8 months now and it seems like it's not getting any better.
I live in Nashville,Tn and the companies here told me to get 6 months with another carrier then they will hire me. If I get 6 months with another carrier, why would I go to them?
I have 1 year ex. No tickets, accidents and MVR is clean.
What to do, any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks![]()

What about your old log books as proof?

I had the same problem, company not reporting. FFE took my W2's as proof, but also asked if I had my old logs. Those are the only two ways really to prove unless you find someone from the office of the old company.

You appear to having more issues, than verification. You've had plenty of time to gain verifiable experience. Although "current" experience may be whats hurting you at this moment. The rest speaks for itself.

Thanks for all the help. I never thought about my logs, I have all of them. You are right about current verification. After the mess with the economy and trucking companies not hiring during the slow periods,my lay off came at a bad time. I've not given up though, I will find something soon.

Always keep at least one letter you've received with the company letterhead at the top. Keep your first and last pay stub and w-2s. Logbooks are good if you can keep them all.
In am emergency type up a "To Whom It May Concern" letter on company letter head indicating your start and stop dates, rate of pay, and job description, and reason for company to cease operations. My previous employer was sold, and did not report anything to DAC. My next employer took DAC as definitive and I appeared to have a 2 year blackhole in my work history until I could get a former employee with letterhead to document my work at the former company.
