Just wanted to say Hello. I am new to the forum. Looks like I will be heading to TMC on June 15.
If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated.
I would also like to know if anybody knows if living in Southwest VA is a good location to live in and drive for TMC. I am about 1 hour away from the Tennessee state line, Kentucky state line, West Virginia state line, and North Carolina state line.
Will I be able to get home on weekends to see my wife and 4 year old son?

Hey 14 Fan, I also am new to this and acccording to P I guess we will be suffering together with a totally bad company. I am waiting for my recruiter to say if I will get in the 15th or the next orientation date. I should know tomorrow. Here is how I see it. I have been around enough to know life is what you make of it. God willing, I will do my best and keep my nose clean and try to make a living doing something I have wanted to do for a long time. I have worked in factories, 6 years in the military, and dealt with all kinds of people. There are always obstacles in anything you try. It is how you handle those obstacles that will determine how your outlook will be. I will give TMC my best. It is up to them if they want to keep it. If they don't, it ain't the end of life. I will move on. I have wanted to drive truck since I drove alittle in the Army. Good Luck 14 Fan. Hope to see ya there!

Cyclebum, I hope you can get in on the 15th. And a big AMEN to your post. I have been laid off from the railroad for about 2 months now and unemployment won't near pay my mortgage and other bills. I have applied to many differant jobs and as of now TMC is all I've got. I have prayed and prayed and asked God to lead me in the right direction, and it looks like TMC. So I know everything is going to be alright. I might get sent home on the first day, but it won't be because I am not putting forth an effort.
I have read both bad and good about TMC, but I really think that you will get out of it with what you put into it. I know that it will be a big change of life for me, my wife, and especially my 4 year old son, but that is why I am going into it with an open mind and try to put forth the effort to make the best out of it.
I wish you the best of luck and hope to see you in Des Moines. -
Hey Fan14, Sorry I won't be arriving on the 15th. My recruiter contacted me and said my date was the 22nd. Just half to call him next Monday to confirm I still want it. I am ready as I can be. Look forward to truckin, alittle worried about starting a whole new career. Take care and hope everything works out for you and your family.
