Since December I bet I've stopped 5 trailers that have struck a bridge up in NY city somewhere. Peeled a few back like a sardine can.

Strange that nobody mentioned the rust. That's the one thing that would keep me away. I dunno what causes it, but your entire truck will start rusting the moment you cross into the NE. And I mean everything. Your tools on the shelf in the sleeper will rust in the toolbox. The screws in your cellphone will rust. It's insane.

Probably from road salt if it's in the winter, kicking up on things helping them to rust.
My husband hates to drive in the northeast, to bad we reside here lol

Ive never had these problems and Ive lived in minnesota which uses lots of salt, and ive also been in the east an all over the midwest in the winters. The only thing I see rusting is the truck.

I worked for a towing company upstate NY for a bit. They had an 85 kenworth from california for the heavy towing. It was so rusted, there were holes through the sides, some of the controls had rusted until they broke off, the radiator had only the thick upright pieces left, the fins were all gone.

Maybe it was something to do with the area I was in. Right by Lake Champlain. They said the pollutants coming from Detroit had made the lake acidic.
