I appreciate it. A wise man once said “dance with the one that brought ya”. Ole Junkyard Dog has brought me a long ways..... don’t know if I’ll ever be able to part with her.

Kinda like this, it only makes 550HP and it is not all wheel drive, it weighs 1200 less though.

It's not perfect but it's really clean for what I paid for it. I'll be putting about 1500 to 2000 into it right off but I still feel like I'm coming out ahead in the long run. Needs an ac compressor because this ones knocking, needs the abs valve down behind the bumper, a windshield, and 2 new steers because the cheap China tires arent round

It's really fairly flat. You can lay a straight edge across it and see a little daylight here and there, but you'll have to measure the gap with feeler gauges. The thicker the top and the heavier the bracing underneath, the better off you'll be. This one has 3 3" channel cross members under it with a 3/8" top. If I were to build a new one, I would go with a 3/4 to 1 inch top. I never intended to use it like I am, but I sold the pickup and the new owner didn't want the bed.
I have built tables in the past with 1-1/2" bolts screwed into a nut welded to a plate under each leg for adjustment on uneven floors. I won't help with table warp, but it will take the rocking out of it.
There is a guy who built a table with adjustment bolts under the top to keep it flat. A little overkill, IMO, but to each his own.

Me? I get a 55 gallon drum of 15w40 rotella at rural king for 600.00, last one on sale for 500.00. Napa gold filters are WIX. They have a filter sale twice a year. I still change at 10k. I know most will tell me that's dumb, but oil, and grease are cheap insurance.

All these emission motors like to be driven down low...

I downshift at 1200-1300 regardless... higher if we’re at grade. Melton limited the ISX to 1600rpm? May have been 1700rpm. It’s been awhile. Needless to say in frame was required at 400k... o_O

On the probe, keep in mind if you do pre-turbo, if that thing ever fails, it’s going straight into the turbo. Post turbo and try to keep her below 900. Short bursts of 950 won’t hurt it but don’t hold it there.

I change my oil every 10,000 for peace of mind and cuz I’m a simple guy and it’s easy to calculate on the odometer. Lol.
