Beautiful city. LOTS of freight going in and out. All kinds of DCs, warehouses, etc. NOT A SINGLE TRUCK STOP. Amazing. All the truck stops are 15-30 miles out from the city. So, I finish my last drop and the dispatcher says "Find somewhere to park. We don't know where you're going yet." I ask which direction he would like me to head so I can find one of these truck stops in the desired direction of travel. "No idea," he says. Does anyone have any ideas where to park in Louisville? I ended up heading north on I-65 and tucking in at the Pilot in Memphis, IN (exit 16).

There's a tank wash right off exit 4 off I-264 that has a big lot and would probably let you park there .
-
Thanks, Rick. I knew you would come through. I will look for that next time I am through there... which seems to be about once a month or so anymore.
-
Ugh, I live 50 miles from there, so they never get me in the area.
-
The only other one is on I-64 in Indiana at exit 92 Leavenworth, there is a pilot there. Slim pickens in that area though.

There are Pilots at exit 121 on I-65 and exit 28 on I-64 in KY and a Love's at exit 116 on I-65 .

Yap. I know about all those. They are not IN Louisville, but miles out. So if the dispatcher doesn't know which direction he needs you to head, you have no idea which one to pick. Last time in L-ville he said "go back north towards Evansville." Wasn't till I hung up I realized Evansville is WEST... so I tried calling back. The other dispatcher said he's busy, so just head towards Evansville. I went to the Leavenworth Pilot. Got my load NEXT DAY for a pick-up in Florence, KY... so had to backtrack 37 miles to Louisville and then on to Florence. Yes, I did claim and got paid for the extra out of route miles! but it's a pain.

Do you really think there is a safe place to park in Louisville at night. I ran about twenty loads in there this winter and was able to park in a locked yard, and the guard told me some great horror stories about that place at night.

There is a Mcdonalds off I-65 exit 127 ( outer loop ) with truck parking. I usually park there and never had any problems with anybody.

You had a pilot if you would of went south in i-65 past where i-265 & i-65 meet just south of that on exit 121 it's about 15 miles from louisville.
