Just a money making cash revenue source. Like these about as much as I do red light cameras. When you have computers issueing tickets there is something wrong. Cops are cops, but we don't write every violation as a ticket, these #### machines will just to generate revenue. Rookie driver, did they say how much over the limit before the zap you and send you a coupon in the mail?

Guess it would help if I read the whole article. Sorry for being lazy tonight!

I was in Phoenix this morning and the city is covered with speed cameras. Some are permanent sites and others are DPS vehicles parked along the shoulders. It seems to me a way to make revenue without having to pay a human to collect that revenue. I'm sure those permanent speed traps cost a chunk of change to buy and install. I wonder how many citations it takes to pay for one camera site. They were installing more permanent sites this morning on the west side of town on I-10.
I remember reading in Car and Driver a couple years ago that a Hyundai Sonata was ticketed by one of those cameras for going 147mph on the freeway. Anyone familiar with a Sonata would know that just isn't likely, especially since it was a rental car, not some suped up rice burner. -
i'd like to see some installed at those merge points where people go around and into the berm to save themselfs 12 seconds.

I think they should post snipers with high-powered rifles in the construction zones...
I had some rocket scientist pass me in the construction zone in Montgomery going so fast that I cringed, waiting for the sonic boom. If I was a cop, I guess I'd be on CNN for giving that guy a beating that'd make the Rodney King incident look like a spanking on the hand.
