I’m on the seventh time dealing with the one maintenance problem and the fifth time dealing with another and this is just in one month.
I’m dealing mostly with company shops.
How many times will you deal with the same maintenance issue before quitting?

You losing money? Or do they pay you to sit. I don't like loosing money because of somebody eldes mistakes. It does happen. As often as you are having problems they either don't care or are incompetent.
FlaSwampRat Thanks this. -
We have a driver who thinks the shop should wash his windshield. Some guys will really get on the shop's Crap list because they bring their trucks in for issues that they can easily resolve themselves. Shops have an extremely difficult time filling roles with competent technicians and we need to be mindful of other's work schedules.
Now I'm not suggesting that the OP falls into this category; it's more of a general statement regarding the world we live in.
OP, what's the problem? If it's a relatively simple fix and we can help you get it done, everyone wins.MACK E-6, Lepton1, FlaSwampRat and 3 others Thank this. -
Straight to dealership. Call into the manager or dispatcher that you have written up a Defect or few for the vehicle. And that you happened to find a nice shop. (Preferably far out in the woods...) easy fix pay them please?
Don't quit. Not for that. But chisel on them. YOU are the agent that decides if a truck is defective or not and can go out on to public roads. You don't work until that is fixed. But if your shops are not that good people well, wander somewhere far off and find a decent shop and call in one morning sorry boss it's broke. Fix it please we are here at such a such.
Only once in my life have I taken it on myself to order a near 2000 dollar replacement of a air conditioning system in Savannah. Indiana is still screaming bloody murder about doing that at home for 700. But hey it's fixed. Pay em. -
Yeah I left Legend over several maintenance issues, wish I had not, 1 was DEF filter problems they just did not want to buy, the other was an electrical issue, kept loosing my low beams, not blowing fuses or light bulbs, they would just go out all the other lights would stay on no problem but it low beams would just go off like I turned them off, except they would not come back on. Fought them across to Houston and back twice. Don't know how I would have got them fixed but quitting only showed me not them. Made good money there but sometime we don't think in the correct prospective.

I had an issue once with a company truck. They didn’t fix it, just reset it. 2 days later I sent in a breakdown near a dealership. Coincidence I say
Told them it wouldn’t run because of course the wanted at their shop.
Talked to the tech at shop. For some strange reason.....he backed me up Told company it won’t start
They took care of itLepton1 and GhentSaintPeters Thank this. -

Run fat wire pair to each bulb wiring set carefully matching phase so you don't burn the LED. -
No can answer without knowing what the maintenence problems are.
I was having coffee at the counter at a petro once, when the driver sittingnext to me was getting a serious reaming from someone on the phone.
When he got off, he ask if I could belive he just got chewed out for having the company truck fixed. I ask what was fixed, it turns out he took it to the dealer and had them replace the little plastic wire that went over the interlock switch. lol
I told him that I would not even think about chewing him out for that, but when he left here he would be kicking a can down the road if it was my truck.
I was running a terex scraper a couple of hundred miles from the yard, and the front tranny was getting hot.
I would shut it down and by the time the mechanic got there he would hold his hand on it and claim it was not hot, well duh.
This went on three or four days in a row, and he finally told me the gauge had to be wrong. I ask him if the bad gauge made it smell hot. lol
Anyway I beat the gauge out of it and called him again the next day, the owner of the company called and ask what happened to the gauge, my answer was ball peen hammer. lol
He then ask if I had any idea what one cost, I said no clue, but am positive they are cheaper than a tranny. lolLepton1, x1Heavy, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this.
