Just the other day I was at the Columbus terminal and noticed that there were several Crete day cabs (brand new). Is there that much shuttling going on or has this always been the case?

Last night as I was headed into NY I was left in the dust going up a hill by a Blue tractor pulling a Crete trailer. If that was you ET, I was in the Stevens truck that couldn't get out of it's own way. Had a load of beef weighing me down.

Well, Crete really tried to put the screws to me today. Sat morning I picked up a crappy load at the yard in Columbus going to Hagerstown, a big whopping 370 miles with two full days on it. Yesterday while sitting in the pilot in Hagerstown I decided to send dispatch a mesage asking them what the freight situation would be like Monday morning. As a reply I was actually given a preplan. Not that great, 719 miles from Baltimore to Chicago with two days on it but at least I knew I wouldn't be sitting. Before I went to bed I confirmed with dispatch that yes indeed I was still preplanned. I get ontp Tractor Supply and do a quick drop and hook and then send in my empty call. I wasn't even going to wait for the load info before heading out but something told me to hold on. Sure enough I get a message from dispatch telling me that not only was I taken off the preplan but that I was also 10th in line with very little chance at a load today. I think every truck within 100yds of me heard me cussing. I sent a message to my terminal manager and another to the ops manager saying that just because dispatch screwed up giving me that preplan in the first place doesn't mean I should be punished. Never heard a word back from either of them. But low and behold about 4 hours later I get an offer to deadhead down to Raphine, Va. and pick up a load going to Arkansas for Wed morning with a total of 1127 miles. So in the end I got a better load than the one I was preplanned on. Maybe I would have got that load anyway or maybe I got it because I raised so much hell. Who knows.

It's kind of sad that evertrucker has not posted in a while. I wonder what happened.

I'm beginning to believe that knowledge of this log of his has kept them busy giving him loads.

evertruckerr Thanks this.

coming up with loads for 10 trucks, depending on the freight index for that area, is about right. Unless they run out at 9 loads then you have to wait for the loads that didn't want to pay enough and are no willing to pay more and for the loads that get picked up tomorrow.
