i consider plugs to be temporary. but i use them all the time, after i plug a tire though i do a proper patch whenever its convent. normally within a week sometimes maybe a month. plugs can last a very long time but sometimes they start to leak again after a while. i have never had a patch leak. plugs are great for a quick fix and keep rolling worry about it later.
Flat tire emergency kit, are they useful as a permanent solution?

Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
If you have the good plugs, you didn't, or at least I hope you didn't drill the hole too big. I have used 2,3 or even 4 plugs in heavy equipment tires. As far as a plug starting to leak later, not if properly used and a good quality truck tire plug. You can by cheap plugs, and they are hard to even get them to hold at all.
I had to plug a toyo drive tire when it was less than a week old, I suppose they replaced it when I had that set capped, but didn't ask.Intothesunset Thanks this. -
I only had a Slime tire plug kit. 7 inch plugs. From Walmart.
