I can’t imagine the engine has been damaged at all. Compared to the amount of idling done in an otr Truck. Maintenance always the best on Fire Trucks. Most of the time it sat. Once in s while it got a work out. Can’t beat that. Low miles, I think I’d buy something like that. Hopefully get a couple thousand back, selling what’s not used. Scrapping the rest.

Go for it. Firefighters usually take very good care of their equipment, because there aint never enough government money to go around. I always wanted to be a firefighter , but i chose trucking instead

I would open that engine and change o-rings on liners, O-rings on injectors. They must be dried if engine was stored without proper coolant. Oh yeah and new head gasket. that's all if its 12.7L series 60.

I’d like to find something like that, also. Dried seals, maybe. Oil cooler seals, often dry up, any others will show up as leaks, front, rear main seals, and covers.I wouldn’t pull the head, no way!! Unless it starts seeping.
