Quitting one company for another.

Four months ain't #### dude, you gotta put time in. When I started driving I was begging for three days a week when I was a year in and it all worked out great in the end. It sounds like you have your mind made up but look at it from the point of your new employer, this dude just jumped ship after four months (at what I am guessing is your first trucking job because you mentioned going solo?) so they aren't likely to give you the gravy right away. I'm not trying to be negative here, I just don't want you to be disappointed if it's not that much better at the new place. OTR companies are always hiring because of this jump ship, don't work, jump ship, didn't work, jump ship, didn't work. From what I read on here 99% of otr companies are pretty much the same and freight is really slow right now so you might be chasing a load where ever you go. Just think this thru, you got talked into this company by a guy that is most likely getting scammed into "being his own boss" by this new company. That's not to say that it's not a great place to work because if @Chinatown has heard good things then it's gospel but I can pretty much guarantee that you are going to be the whipping boy here just like you are at WE until freight picks up and you can prove yourself. A few bad loads in a row happen to everyone, @D.Tibbitt pointed that out to me when he said he's had a bad day that lasted a few weeks. I really hope things work out for you but just like everything else in life you will get out of it what you put in. Good luck buddy, I hope you make the right decision.

 

Tell them you are done. Ask them where do they want their truck dropped off. When they give you the location, that’s when you set up orientation at the next gig.

And when you end this chapter in your life, end it. Don’t be one of those pricking ex drivers roaming around looking to pick on trainee and rookies from previous companies.

These were mostly guys I worked with at the company I started with that quit Henderson. At the time I was there I was making $.35 a mile as a solo, drove junk equipment, and had to run dirty to make $ there so I found someone and ran team. But we had several ex-Henderson drivers that left there to start out at $.33 cpm and driving old junk, that should tell you something lol

 

Anything is better than WE, just get your ### back to a terminal and call it quits. Move on with your life and good luck
