Thought I'd see how many have either a Cobra or a Uniden with the built in weather bands. Are they of any importance for over-the-road use?
Any of you run a Cobra or Uniden with the weather bands?

I presently have a Uniden, previously had a Cobra. Weather band is good, especially in the winter. Their weather alerts are handy.

i just bought a cobra with weatherband.it works great because you cant rely on weather reports off the stereo.

Got a few Cobras with weather band.
DO NOT buy a Cobra 25 with weather band. The RF gain switch is removed, so it is maxed out. Most of the time, there is so much background noise you have to turn up the squelch. Then you can't hear much. BS. -
Bigstretch...hmm....yeah I see the RF gain is omitted....however then again I know a lot of people that find the RF gain knob to be useless.

I have the Cobra 29 w/weather. It's come in real handy quite a few times. When there is an immediate threat like a Tornado Warning the Radio makes a VERY loud beeping noise to alert you to tune to the weather band to hear the warnings.

I live in a high traffic area, and there is a lot external electrical interference as well. It is a necessity.
I don't need a CB with weather band n the big truck. The OEM AM/FM/CD radio already has it.
