Greetings and Intro from FL

Hi All
Need to make an intro so here goes. Call me Cherokee (used to drive one) and I have been proud to be a trucker's wife for 20+ yrs. My dad drove and did edesk duty in it as well. My DH drives, currently have our own small company. He comes from a family full of drivers as well, his brother drives for us. Got 2 kids, son now 21 and daughter soon to be 16. Live on the beach in central west FL, found the place we plan to buy for retirement, if it ever happens. Been in the biz myself before we went O/O about 8 yrs ago.
joined this forum as I've been looking for new home since MSN closed the old group. Looks like a good choice and am looking forward to being here.

Born & raised in Tampa. In laws still live there, Forest Hills area. Like this spot soooo much better, esp after Orlando too.

 

Thought I'd add a little more to the intro (did the basic stuff).

I started in retail, had a marketing research degree but didn't wanna leave FL at the time. Grew up in trucking, parents even had a local transfer company waaaay back when. Used to work weekends & summers there when I got old enough. Well, after near 15 yrs in retail, from sales to buying offices I got out. TG!! DH got me right into air freight and been in some form of transportation ever since (and yes I have been a dispatcher too).
8 yrs ago we started with our own authority/company and been morphing with the changes ever since. In that time I have alsso become a personal banker, travel agent, pencil pusher and that shoulder all the drivers vented/cried on. Some days I miss going to work at NAVL/Beltmann Logistics, but ya gotta love the commute from the kitchen to the ome office!

Our motto is "Failure is not an option!" So we keep on!
