I would very much like to get into this industry, but I have some issues that need to get worked out first and foremost. First, my driver's license has been on permanent suspension due to NJ and their Insurance Surcharge thing. You don't pay it they take your license away indefinitely until you pay up. I owe $1470.79 and all will be good again. Once I get my license back will that affect my eligibility to get trained. I have no DUI's or anything like that. Speeding tickets back in 1993 is all. Also I'm worried about passing the physicals due to a severely broken leg back in 1987. My leg was broken in 7 places, it's fine now but i can't really bend my leg, at the knee all the way to do a duck walk. Although I can squat. What is the likely hood any company would be willing to hire me?
Got a bunch of questions!!!

All I know is one of the first questions on any driving app is regarding the suspension of your license, now or ever. I am sure this is to weed out the individuals that have lost their license due to a major violation. The key is to be honest from the get go and explain the suspension in detail.
I am sure that your doctor would be able to tell you if you would have any problems.Last edited by a moderator: Jun 16, 2009
Colorado-K Thanks this. -
With the suspended license, slim to none and Slim left town 3 weeks ago. Sorry friend.
Colorado-K Thanks this. -
LOL, Well, I will be getting it back, it's not as if I'm going to try with it in it's current status, ya know?

It does not matter whether you have it back or not.
There is a question that is on all CDL applications.
It wants to know if you have ever had a suspended license.
Your MVR is also ran. -
Well i don't think the suspended license will hurt you for what it's for. I once got my license suspended for letting physical laps
oops. However i was not driving at the time which was why i forgot to renew it. Once i renewed my physical the suspension came off the mvr and has never showed up since. As far as the leg goes you shouldn't have any problems getting hired but if you can't bend it not sure how you will drive a especially if it's your left leg. JMO

Nah brother, my leg bends, I just can't make my heel hit the back of my leg, ya know? I've been looking around and most of the company sites qualifications mention no moving violations in the past 3 years and some say no suspensions in the past 3 years, or no DUI's in the past 5years. I was just curious. I can wait 3 years if need be. I find it hard to believe that my brother in law can drive a truck and he did 15 years for bashing somebodys head in with a beer mug, but my license being suspended would keep me from getting hired? Kinda stupid having to deal with this, I swear NJ is a Nazi State, but all this hapened 16 years ago, I just said the heck with NJ and never bothered getting back, until now.....live and learn...

Well i would suggest get it all straightened out get them reinstated and wait a couple weeks or a month check your MVR and it may not even show up as a suspension as was the case when my was temporarily suspended for letting my physical lapse. You never know but good luck.Colorado-K Thanks this.
