We had a load that paid $840 the other day... lumper was $250
A little crazy. -
yesi00,
what are you doing to find loads, primarily? Internet load boards, previous contacts, or what?
I've heard just pulling stuff off the internet can be disastrous, but for the brief time I dispatched, I don't think it was that bad. And the statement about brokers offereing you good loads that never hit the boards for good service is true. Say what you want about CH Robinson, but I had a guy in an office in upstate NY, who rocked. -
I've just never hit it off with a CH Robinson employee. I have about a dozen brokers out of Ohio that we run for who call me before the loads hit to see if I can take them... all of them I work with just like CHR. I get the call, we pick it up and move it and go from there. Not once have I ever received a call from CHR for a load that we've previously done.
-
yes unfortunately we are working from the load boards for now, but we hope to eventually in the near future to be able to establish a few decent contracts directly with companies.

hey guys whats a lumper?
-
A lumper is some one you pay to load or un-load the frieght. They also break in down and stack it like the rec. wants it.
