^^^ What @roadtech says is right. And if you can't save up money enough to buy a truck as a company driver, you sure won't do it with a lease/purchase that is near impossible to complete.

And after a few years the only thing he'll know how to do is drive truck. Which has nothing to do with running a business ... If he doesn't know how to run a business now, he isn't going to learn it by driving truck.

Who knows ... The usual you'll get screwed doing a lease, in the forum that's supposed to be for lease ops to learn from and assist each other.Rooster1291979 Thanks this.

You won’t get screwed with a lease purchase. You’ll get absolutely screwed with the wrong lease purchase. Which most of them are. I said there were some good ones. I actually did a lease purchase with a company in the mid 90’s
With a private grocery company in NJ and did very well. Most of these piss per mile lease purchase deals on ready to blow up emmisions trucks 2012-2015 mainly are horrendous deals.
So are many of the double brokered percentage deals where you take an already brokered load and then the company takes another 25 to 30 percent off of that. . The new truck deals are usually team deals where the truck never stops and they run the snot out of you and the truck is shot in three years or if it’s solo there’s a balloon payment there’s a balloon payment. If you can find a company with solid direct work of at least $2.50 a mile with solid well maintained trucks with low mileage , then I would say yes. Is that hard to find , yes, but there out there. -
I said learn the business , not be a steering wheel holder. Learn the mechanics of a truck and running a truck. Learn the lanes and what they pay . Take advantage of someone else’s check book and equipment and get educated on their dime. Most goof balls who jump into a lease purchase to run around telling everyone they’re an owner operator, and they own they’re
Own business without much real world experience as a driver and learning to be a professional are doomed from the get go and end up working for almost free before they get starved out of the deal and they put the next
“New and dense “ candidate in their “own business” by these companies with near 100%
Turnover that churn through the uneducated. -
You're pretty disgruntled....you've got 2 threads on this. Try being a company driver. It's not so badFlaSwampRat and MartinFromBC Thank this.

starmac and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
Lots of these guys are forced to get services where they break down and bad people want to cash in on misery like mercenaries. Also engine derates are not handled by many shops have to go to dealership or cat, cummins, etc.
