End of day 9 and it got alot better today. I had an instructor that was state certified and he cleared up alot of questions I had. I was in the group with the girl again but this guy was so good that he had her city driving and making turns in about an hour. Passed the pre trip test so all I have is the three DOT manuvers (off set backing, straight line backing & parallel parking) tomorrow and then the road test on Friday. We lost 1 more person today but it wasn't because he couldn't drive. The person arrived back at the practice yard at about 11:45am and was so pissed at the instructor that he left to go cool off and the instructor had no idea where he was when he was giving instructions on what they were going to be doing after lunch that he thought he quit. He came back after lunch and the instructor let him have it in front of everybody and that was that. I feel for the guy but at the same time he should've stuck around to hear what the agenda was after lunch. We do it everyday. Best advice I can give to anyone coming to Central in SLC is to listen to your instructors. If you have a question about where you are meeting or what you are doing at a certain time, ask.

I spoke to one of them in Security and he said the juvenile stuff doesn't matter unless it's a felony. He said now that I have my paperwork in, it will just be 2 or 3 days and he'll have the background check done and I'll get a call when it's done.

Better to be safe then sorry!
We didn't want you to get there and then be sent home when a phone call is cheap!
Hope you get into the 6th July class. -

AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!! The gods of equipment that works must be pissed off at me. I have a trailer the tandoms won't slide, and the pins ARE released. Of course by the time I tried everything I could think of, and everything OTR had me do, I am out of hours.
On a side note I saw one of our trucks pull into the shipper with a STOP sign wedged under the tandoms (POLE and all, yes) , and the driver seemed to be totally unaware. Now normally I don't do things like this, but I work #### hard not to hit anything, I got her truck number and sent a message to safety. I know I'm a rat, but at some point she creamed it and didn't have a clue and shouldn't be on the road!!! -
Lol stuck there??????
Bigrig If she still had the stop sign wedged in her Tandems and didn't notice she needed reporting!

I too will be in the July 6th class. Still waiting on the pre-hire paperwork. Talked with Ryan on Monday and he gave me the start date, but still no paperwork.
Just out of curiosity, are the CDl written tests really different from state to state? I've been studying my Indiana CDL handbook, but I'm wondering if I should try and find an online copy of the Utah Handbook. Does it matter? -
Yes, picking up a dropped trailer heading for Oklahoma City.
