It is supposed to be wide open.

i think u might have a fuel issue, if u need to give it gas to keep it moving, any work done to any fuel components?
-
New injectors were put in a month ago. This issue has been going on alot longer though.

50 lb Tannerite.... Add 7.62 and problem solved !! LoL

Dont know why or how it would happen... BUT it almost sounds like the jake brake is on while your trying to get moving... Maybe a bad sensor or something causing the jake to remain on when it shouldnt be???
-
I did have the tops on the jake brake pistons tightened up and while they were in there replaced the control soleniod cuz I scored one for $75. I had the notorious engine vibration when engaged in setting 3 going down a hill a little over a year ago. They found the tops of the veb pistons were coming unscrewed. Also I have observed a slight bounce in the boost guage and the sound of the turbo when going down a hill.

As a side note, Even our Airforce has to wonder from time to time in Dyess when a fully loaded and fueled mission real world jet leaves town on burners. And you understand that it's almost at the interstate about two miles down before it finally gets into the sky.

Should see a B-52 takeoff

Might be some damage on a tooth in that gear. Don’t quote me on that though just had a similar experience with my 4 Wheeler Jeep. Cold start 2nd gear had a habit of loosening out I had to hold it in until I drove it some and the cars warmed up. When I decided to get some work done on the engine I had the transmission looked at what do you know it wasn’t missing a tooth but it had a chip in it. Replaced and fixed never happened again.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.
