Whatever you think.
When someone asks for advice, you must consider whether a company allows it or if they are willing to risk a job.
I really do not care whether you carry or not.
Most companies have policies against it. I have delivered to many companies where the signs CLEARLY read, the driver and the truck are subject to search. Firearms are not allowed on premises concealed or not.
Now, with signs like that, they will not be guilty of assault. However, assault is verbal, I think you must have meant battery.
As far as firearms, take that discussion to the thread where others have opinions either way.Last edited: Jun 18, 2009

YOU let it happen!!!!! -

unless they count my 32 oz estwing framing hammer as a weapon. (I DO
)
Working Class Patriot Thanks this. -
I think we should be allowed to carry firearms legaly but how long will it take for them to change their mind once the hot headed "super truckers" and the "CB rambos" start shooting each other?
-
well since you first have to be able to get ta concealed carry permit that kinda weeds out most of the hot heads
-
lets hope so
are the wepon permits hard to get......... i passed the background check for haz mat so i should be able to get that huh? -
it depends on the state in kansas you have to take a class to learn the laws the pertaining to concealed carry, a test over the class, an accuracy shoot, fingerprinting, application to the state. then the state takes there sweet time 45-90 they will tell you if your approved then you go down to the DMV to get your permit. keep in mind each step will cost you something when i got mine it was an extra $300 to get threw the process.

Being a responcible CCW holder is not about how to get around the searches and arguments.. It's about being law abiding and when and where you are required to declare your weapon.. Concealed or not!
Using COMMON SENCE.. not carring in bars, military instalations, federal buildings, jails, court houses, ports, ect. ANYWHERE that your not welcome is a condition of issuing a CCW permit. Violating this is a real fast way to loose you license!
I spent 13 years in the military and I never had a problem declaring a weapon at the gate to an installation.. The rent a cops there now won't have the authority to take it but they will call the regular MP's to come and do the job legaly.
I have mixed feelings about this issue.. Unless a national carry permit is made available, just getting a state permit won't cover all states and municipalities across the country.. (I.E. NYC.. you must have a NYC permit a NY state permit is not valid in the city). Trying to keep abreast of the different laws in each state is a headache to say the least.. No state permit is valid in all 50 states now that I know of...
Try this web site for more CCW carry info.. http://packing.org -
Actually assualt is physical, simple assault no weapon or serious injury, aggravated assault is assault with a weapon or seroius injury has occured.
And as for company policy an argument can be made, Oklahoma recently overturned rules that prohibited companies from searching private vehicles for firearms, Connoco-Phillips Oil was the company I believe, They tried to get osha to get involved they wouldn't play ball. Employee rights won.
As far as the firearms question its an open forum and guns are at the heart of the matter , troll elsewhere please!
