Yes sir for now we sure are. Although are warehouse is I think only slated to get 4 Freightliners, it's going to be a minute if ever before one filters down to me. The last 2-3 years the Volvos were very unreliable and prone to constant break downs and I think they were getting expensive, I knew GFS was looking at something else when the sample Kenworths were starting to show up. The sample Kenworths were awful too, will see how long the Freightliners last, I know the past 2 years especially the new/redesigned Volvo line up has been fraught with problems and I had the feeling GFS was going to dump Volvo until Volvo figured out there issues, because some of the problems were just stupid.
Do you still work for GFS or did you give them up?

I quit back in may. Thew away 11 and a half years. Just getting too ridiculous. I'm at Dayton freight now. I like it much better and the money is better than I thought it was going to be so that's an added bonus. Nice easy work and stay busy which makes the weekend come nice and fast. Definitely hope to be here for a long timeCardfan89, LtlAnonymous, SidewaysBentHalo and 5 others Thank this.

We’re lucky where we are in Cleveland I like our branch and we have a lot of work but, we can’t deny reality GFS has gone through some growing pains and certainly some inefficiency.Cardfan89, ZachG91 and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

Just remember. The grass may be greener on the other side, but it’s still grass.

When I was at MBM (now McLane) the rule was the senior guy got to pick his teammate along with the route. So you could have #3 on the list teamed up with #123 (or whatever)
which seems much better than #3 and #4 get to team up. suck it up for a year kids. ugh -
Glad to hear everything is going well for you at the DFL!

Yeah, we pay close to top scale for seasonal drivers, which is fine. There are obviously no benefits for peak drivers, so they can pay them whatever they want to attract volunteers, as far as I'm concerned.
But these are full-time permanent positions. That's something totally different. Those positions start with benefits around $20 an hour. -
Oh, they have checked with everyone. There is a book to sign up for teams, guys are talking to other guys about being partners, the whole deal. They just need a lot of team drivers. Like a lot. This may be one of the largest hiring drives in our history.FlaSwampRat Thanks this.

Roughly 7-10 or so years ago when they first started teams in CACH, UPS advertised on XM radio for off the street Team hires. This was unheard of at the time for UPS to advertise. Supposedly they are planning to add 50 Teams in Louky at SDF and LCH in the near future.FlaSwampRat Thanks this.
