I guess you're addressing me with your reply. Just giving my opinion of what I see on the videos. I must have missed the stopped traffic part.
At any rate, if it proves out he is an unsafe driver, get him off the road, real simple.![]()

Looks to me like when he snapped it hard left to avoid the cement truck stopped in the lane, the counter braking/ side force tore the tire off bead, the tire will be under the rig...don't think it was a blowout that caused him to swerve..he was driving too fast for traffic conditions, maybe talking on cell phone not paying attention, can't figure out how he missed the cement truck rear.
-
The local news that morning didnt say anything about a tire issue. Maybe that was found out later or maybe he thought he was still in Chicago and had to drive that way. Either way I never heard if they were all ok or not. Hope they were

Do not bother bringing up a tire issue, no matter what, according to SNI policy..driver is always at fault.

Diver should know his load wieght, traffic and road conditions....PLUS take into effect its and intermodel trailor....hello!! top heavy!
Regardless..you can not explain the speed, it appears he ran right up on stopped traffic. He was not paying attention. If it was a tire, look at it this way. Had the tire not blown, he still would have slammed right into stopped traffic!

Exacly what I told the wife when she watched the video..i completely agree..not paying attention, and way too fast for traffic conditions!
-
We have the same problem out here on west coast..can runners are generally paid by the turn, so they are always pushing the speed to get the extra turn in each day!

i watched the 1st part about 10 times.
seems pretty clear he came up on the stalled middle lane QUICKLY and tried to go left to avoid it. i'm also thinking he bounced off the inside wall -
I know exactly where this accident happened because my sister lives right there by Bluemound rd. There is curves through that section of HWY 45, from North ave to the zoo interchange. You really have to be paying attention to traffic when driving through there. You can easily come around the next curve and traffic be at a stand still.
I might be wrong but I believe the speed limit through there is 45-50mph. Looking at that video multiple times, he did not give himself stopping distance and he was doing greater then the speed limit. Lucky no one got killed or seriously injured.
