Be aware that SLT/Roadmaster was the one that absorbed TSMT, presumably choosing the TSMT monkier going forward to cover SLT/Roadmaster rate cutting reputation & DOT violations that could jeopardize their DoD contracts &/or explosives permits.
The aquisition was not one of benefit to the driver at all, more about leverging the resources of a large parent into a cost & rate cutting frenzy; much like we saw recently from the "axeman" doing the magic at Wal-Mart transportation.
TSMT used to have a good reputation, so that is what they parade around with the fancy green square logo....which is the same old SLT logo but now green, not blue/purple...which is also on specialized (oversize) Roadmaster trucks.
The same company that plasters "leaders in high security shipping" on the sides of some newer van traillers I have seen;
almost choked on my drink thinking it was a joke.
Sadly it wasn't.
Seen a lot of unhappy TSMT teams jump ship for pastures actually greener then their logo shortly after the assimilation; was thing is that even currently, people still work for this group thinking they are making good money with the risks they are putting themselves at.
Also be aware R&R & AATCO out of Duenweg/Joplin,MO (same company) is/are also now in bed with the SLT/TSMT/Roadmaster unholy trinity.
Only a matter of time I suppose until AAT Carriers, (Chattanooga,TN) Boyle Transportation, (Billerica,MA) Green Valley Transportation, (Tracy,CA/Knoxville,TN) or Prestera (South Point,OH) also get absorbed into the Roadmaster blender...

Boyle and Baggett have already been approached and said no to merging. I also suspect the DOD won’t let that happen.archangelic peon Thanks this.

One question on per diem I have taking the perdium negates a lot of tax deductions?
-
It lowers your tax liability, it also lowers the companys ss liability , makes it harder to get loans and when you retire it lowers your ss income. Per Diem in the real world is money paid to you by the company for expenses and does not reduce your pay check.
-
Hmm, I don't recall who at the moment, if and when I do, I'll post it.
