I've wondered this myself...its the same background check, yes...but the $$$ is going in different pockets.
-
Are you on drugs or something, expecting something run by the government to make sence?
-
Makes no sense but they are working on getting it straightened out so that the one background check will cover both.
The House Committee on Homeland Security has approved legislation (H.R.2200) adopting a provision aimed at eliminating duplicative and costly background checks for drivers. -
Actually they are planning on having no background check for hazmat, but implementing a new endorsement for security sensitive materials that will require a BC
-
leave it to the feds to screw things up.
-
oh great, pay em for the hazmat bc. pay em for the twic , and now pay em for this. i wish sam would get outta my pockets sometime before i die.
-
Actually the TWIC is more in depth which is why it takes 4-6 weeks where as the HazMat only takes about a week. You also should have done the HazMat 1st. So you could save money on the TWIC. Now you have to pay full price for both.
-
Mine only took 5 days...
-
Where did you read that?
The TSA is still doing BC on all Hazmat driver applications.
Sounds like a lot of H-S to me!
