Once that time is wasted you already paid the price.

They are adding 3 hours of on duty time. Not driving time. What happens is that your company will now make you sit at the shipper/receiver longer and not make anymore money than you did before. Your day just got legally longer for no financial benefit to you.

    sevenmph and Grouch Thank this.

Frankly..they should have gotten rid of the 30min break...if someone is too dumb to figure out when to take a break during the day without being told, they shouldn't be out here.

Is that a typo? Seven hours in sleeper and two hours off duty? So we can now have 9 hour restarts?

Technically it's 45 minutes at the pump under the current system. You log 15 minutes on line 4 and 30 minutes on line 1. I'm old school and still try to hammer my logs into 15 minute intervals when I can. Probably put this in to keep people from eating lunch at the fuel pumps.

Darn, and my logbook was finally starting to run stable. Looking forward to 18 more months of bug fixes. BTW my ENTIRE PTI now consists of data entry. It takes about 4 minutes for my tablet to turn on cold. Two minutes to to log in, 4 minutes to synch to the ELD, 2 minutes to punch in my trip info, 2 minutes to enter a DVIR and one minute left to knock my start time back 15 minutes to when I first hit the truck. Fluid levels? If I don't have any? I'll find out soon enough.

Pooping driver! Bring a copy of your favorite rag and commit a hate crime against porcelain & plumbing! Why is this such a hardship? Sometimes it's the best part of my day. I certainly feel lighter when done.

The part that gets me is the log throwing you on driving at 5 mph, and 0 leeway near shippers and receivers.

The best scenarios are truck stops a few miles from a S or R.

Except now you just started your clock to drive that 2 miles.

    Madness.

Try yard move or personal conveyance if you're allowed.
