Need my car moved, whats fair? Ft Worth to Phoenix

    paid $2000k for it, something like $2200 after auction fees. just under 50k miles, interior is in great shape. after a new battery, delivery fee etc I'm $2800 into it, drove me 1700 miles home from the diesel shop.

    Only issue is the torque converter seems to want to slip at highway speeds and it threw a torque converter solenoid code. Hopefully that solenoid is the only thing wrong with it, I found a new replacement on ebay for $15 bucks...


    All in all, I paid $600 with a guarantee they would pay storage fees if they failed to pick it up in time. I had other carriers willing to run it for $450, one even offered $400, most offered to do it for $500-550.

    But, they wouldn't put in writing the guarantee if they didn't pick it up before I began to get storage fees.

    I'd also note, not a single carrier themselves contacted me, everyone was a broker.

    If you are willing to work directly with people as the O/O, be reliable and pick up a car when you say you will, I bet you could make a killing with a large 8-10 car carrier.

    PO741 usually occurs when the pulse width modulated tcc solenoid gets over worked because the seals on the torque converter pump shaft become damaged rubbing on the bushing in the Chanel plate.
    When this happens there is such a pressure loss from the damaged seals that the converter can’t stay locked up and slips.
    There are also two valves in the valve body that wear prematurely along with their bores they ride in that can also cause a PO741 code.
    In my shop I would pull the trans replace the TCC solenoid,the pump shaft and tcc seals , the Chanel plate bushing and ream the valve body and install the two Sonnax over sized tcc valves.
    I also would cut open the converter and check the lock up clutch.
    The clutch in there should be Kevlar ( which is pretty tough) but you don’t know how long the slipping has been going on and it’s a pain in the butt to pull the trans again if it’s damaged and you didn’t address it.
    The unit in the car should be a 4T65E by the way.

    If you ever go to the new kia dealership being built in cocoa do not under any circumstances pull in the driveway. Unload on the street. I was there this morning dropping off lifts and that is the most retarded layout I've ever seen. The lot was completely empty except for a few of the construction crews pickups and i still had to jump curbs to get in and out. #### good thing they haven't planted trees in the islands yet or id still be there trying to wriggle out

    It seems like when the engineers design these dealerships they ask themselves how can we design it to keep big trucks out?

    I always call ahead now even after doing this for 20 plus years. Too many dealers we used to pull into now have offsite drop lots. Many of them are less truck friendly than the actual dealerships were.
