So I stopped at radio Shack to buy an externeal speaker for the CB. They had two. One was a regular plug in the back speaker. The other was a 12 volt and plug in the back. Now the 12 volt was $10 buks more, no biggie. But i'd like a little advice on which one would be the best bet. $10 is no big deal, but is the one with a power source just a gimmick!!! Or is it the way to go. OH, in case it matters Im hooking it uo to a Galaxy 919 with a Sky thumber mike.
Thanks,
12 volt External CB Speaker

The 12 volt one has a built in amplifier. Unless you are going to be using it in a extremely noisy area, you will be fine with the standard one.

The one needing 12 volts runs a small, built in amp to give the speaker a 'kick '. Most radios only push about 2-3 watts to the speaker, if that....
Try it in the off/on and see if you can tell any difference and report back. -
I got this Cobra talk back speaker for $25 plus shipping and handling.

I have this same speaker in the big truck and the 4-wheeler. It is nice to have the talk back, you can turn it up or have not talk back. The speaker is pretty loud as well.
