Highest paying LTL trucking company

    If you get on a team run right from hire it is gonna depend on your run. Sleeper runs are dedicated runs. You do the same thing, same miles every week.

    Calculating the lowest paying team run in my hub which is 3500 miles in 4 days TOTAL that's both drivers.
    With around 11 or so hours of clock time in there and starting pay rate per national contract, it comes out to around $75,000 a year.
    That's each driver driving 437 miles a day for only 4 days.

    A top rate it is around $110,000 a year.
    If you want you can also work an extra day on Friday. Since that 5th day is considered your weekend, it is paid at 1.5 rate. You work another day after that, and it is double time.

    I really do. That's a job that will keep you in shape, make a ton of money, the people are great. The only problem is the company sucks now. I don't miss working for them but I do miss the job

    I really shouldn't have said it sucks because it really doesn't. It sucks if you worked there before the way it is now, that's a better way to put it, talk to anyone about how it was up until about five years ago and they will agree. Most will even say it started changing before that but about five years ago is when it started getting to me. Two contracts ago when we (the two locals that never voted for that contract) got steamrolled and got put on team care was a big one. We were the reason we all worked without a contract for a year. It's a great place and I miss the job daily but it isn't what it was a never will be again. You guys working there will work out great because it's like me with nice trucks...you can't miss what you never had. That's why I like where I'm at now. Most of the management is retired UPS that were able to bring what they liked and leave the over obsessive bean counting and 21 year old supervisors behind lol.

    so i'm getting that they all pay around the same
    can some one explain the difference between fedex freight and fedex ground and ups or ups freight. is it linehaul vs city or more then that?
    other then ups or fedex what's the net best company you would pick?

    Ups parcel make a lot more money than ups freight and consists mostly of running trailers hub to hub (tho there is p&d and line haul. I would say the next best would be Old Dominion but that just my opinion, others might have better info.

    FedEx Freight is corporate, palletized shipments, paid very well with excellent benefits (linehaul or city). FedEx Ground (aside from hub operations, i.e. everyone except delivery and linehaul) are contractors and there is a wide disparity amongst different contractors as far as pay and benefits offered if any, generally pales in comparison compensation wise.

    When you see people going on about FedEx truck drivers being in a ditch or driving like an ###hat, they are generally speaking about Ground because Contractors tend to hire with a "meat in the seat" mentality once FedEx clears them to drive based off background check and MVR.

    listen i quit DHE yesterday and i was getting 23.00hr no OT and top out is 25.00hr
    ive talk to all the LTL drivers and in a way we all get paid the same because some carriers pay OT but have more drivers or you get a late start time with short hours ,some carriers pay better but are more strict.

    In los angeles in my opinion and im compairing DHE to these carriers FXF UPS ODFL SAIA OAK HARBOR CT REDDAWAY/YRC/Yellow ETC. most of the fxf and ups guys really only get 8 hours cause of the all the driver they have. and most of the time you live almost 1hr from the terminal. so if you ask me we all get paid the same cause when you add up home/family time and just wanting to play hooky from work , .... i guess what im trying to say is that a certain carrier are not for everyone and you have to pick/work with the one that works the best for you. SORRY for my rant
