You can get Oakley in prescription , I have a pair of polarised from lens crafters , the thing I don't like is driving in the rain at night and the reflection , I hear commercial pilot's have a special pair to deal with that.

Well our sun is different, it does not rise and go down like what you guys are used to. imagine the very worst time it gets in your eyes when it comes up or right before it goes down, and times that by two, and ist stays right there for 3 hours, instead of 20 minutes or so. lol

The safety glasses does exactly nothing for it. 'I looked at the maui jims, and they were polarized and had the coatings that the eye doc recommended, the oakleys didn't and were not even recommended
In the end since, supposedly these driveswear I ordered won out, and they are suppose to be good at night and in the snow too. I may wind up getting a different pair for snow, but we'll see..

I kept two pair, one 8.00 yellow framed glasses back then for night driving and a pair of walmart 19 dollar slip ons that cover everything that did the trick as well in most situations. Planning around sun situation in time of day and direction of travel to eliminate certain hazards related to it being in your eyes unnessarily for hours. And driving trucks that have hoods either painted a charcoal black or already able to reflect sun away for the most part. I keep a can of matte so that on top of there it's not able to reflect much.

I wear a pair of treated shooting glasses that have prescription lenses made for them either day or night to combat the LED lighting that has gotten over much. I have had one eye surgery so far and waiting for the other to burn out in its time.

Also I drive at night mainly. There is day time driving by necessity in scheduling but generally not a problem.

In addition the type of gauges you have on your dash matter. I think chrome inside the dash is cool but not when the morning sun is into your drivers window blasting you with stars inside the cab. A bit of paint takes care of that. (Owner has never noticed...)

I like maui Jims with the titanium frame they are very light and have a very thin wire back to your ear they don't fall off when you look down they are frame less around the lens I think 3 different lens sizes and different lens color options and when you damage them they fix them free and they are expensive

Polarized lenses for sure. Stay away from cheap sunglasses, many have NO UV protection. Color can be a big help. Grey lenses tone everything down. Brown lenses bring out more detail. My favorite lenses come in Serengeti Drivers. I dont know if they're still available.

RayBan Aviators. They cut out glare and you can read LED and electronic screens/gauges.
If there good enough for a 747 or a F15 pilot..........
