I am starting orientation with Maverick on Sunday, July 5th, so I just wanted to put my name out there and say hi to all my future running pals. I have never been a flatbedder although I am not at a complete lack of information about the industry.

Hopefully if I have any questions you guys will be willing to answer them. I am sure that there will come times that I have no clue about how to handle something. If I figure out how to get myself by for the time being then great but I will be noting it in my big book of questions to ask you guys later on down the road.

Welcome! I am a former maverick, but still feel like part of the team. There is more brotherhood among drivers there than any co I ever pulled for.

    Welcome to Maverick.

I'll help in any way I can, anytime I can. Since you say you're new to flat bedding the best advice I can give at this point is once you get out on your own...USE THAT TELEPHONE NUMBER THEY WILL GIVE YOU!!!

Its the one for the guys that teach the securement class (Ed, Keith, Curt, James)...if you have any doubts or questions about securing a load they are the first ones to ask.

They will tell you this in orientation...great guys every one of them.

And watch your speed on exit ramps at all times...but ESPECIALLY during your road test.

    You can say that again....

Rascal..Maverick is top notch when it comes to load securement. They have done a lot of testing and they do overboard on just about everything but thats how they protect not just freight but lives and property damage as well. (Dean shows some pretty cool pictures of accident) You never want to be that guy. Then one thing I can say is if you are like I was when I first started, by the time you get your own truck securement will not be that big of a problem. It will be load placement that will make you the most nervous. You can watch just about any driver from another comany like TMC because they have to get their weights right as well. However Maverick will fire your but or securing a lot of steel loads like a TMC driver so only emulate Maverick drivers. However we truly are a team and I have had to ask more fellow driver to let me do it myself that not. LOL Not that I don't appreciate the help but I'm kinda OCD when comes to my load securement and tarping and just like to have it done a certain way.
