Doing the math....
OTR starts at .40 CPM, at 2500 miles a week, including the .085 CPM in bonuses, plus $600 for the safety videos, that is $63,650 in the first year.
LTL starts at $21/hour, at 11 hours a day that's $68,250 in the first year.

Some companies are after 8. So if on day one of the pay period, you work 12 hours, 8 are regular, and 4 are OT instead of waiting to hit 40. Interested in line haul? I've ran p&d and line haul. More money and less bs in line. Its pretty ridiculous.Nateman482 Thanks this.

Gotcha. I'd be able to deal with the BS as long as I'd be getting paid the whole time. Hourly pay is very attractive to me.... Isn't line haul overnight and cpm instead of hourly? I wonder what the starting cpm is at Magnum for line haul.

Hourly is sweet but if it is money you're after it almost always is in line haul.

Any Magmum line haul drivers who know what the starting CPM is? Otherwise I'll ask around on Tuesday at Coon Rapids.

Line haul and hourly rates vary by terminal. It all depends on where you want to work out of.
I can tell you too that you will not get 2500 miles running out of coon rapids each week. They don't have the miles on their runs. 2000 is probably more realistic but it could be even less.
The only guys regularly doing 2500 or more in and out of coon rapids are the ones comming from Duluth or Wilmar. They make two trips each night.
At Magnum the p&d drivers generally make less than the lunehaul guys.Last edited: Aug 31, 2019

Thanks for the info. 2500 miles was for OTR by the way, not line haul. Should have specified in my post.
