    That's your prerogative. I just stated a fact about the rental industry. Maybe your take on life and renting would be different if the economy was good. The purpose of the Federal government is to: "establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity." If those things were a reality for the majority, then there wouldn't be a problem with renting like you described, but at that point, the majority would have enough money to buy there own homes, and wouldn't need to rent from you; Hence the description of the rental industry as predatory: It's taking advantage of those who can't afford to buy a house because of the current economic state.


    Paying 1200-1800 in property tax a year, plus utilities is far less than renting. And If your annual income is at or above 40,000, those repairs are easily handled. Add to that, that you can eliminate your electric bill with solar, that's even less a year in utilities.

    People can rent rooms. That does exist more frequently than you know. Besides if a place is 650 bucks, that's cheap. Many places that's one or two bedrooms if that. My place in Memphis is 684 for 3 bed 2 bath. However, cost of living in Memphis is cheap.

    Whether a living arrangement is doable varies by region, but on minimum wage, 650.00 is not cheap. Add in fuel, car maintenance, and car insurance, and you'll barely be able to afford ramen.

    Im still trying to figure out the point here..Not that this get derailed but anyway......

    I kinda feel ya CMV1987......Your living in the wrong decade!

    You want 'easy livin', affordable rents and utilities?- You Gotta go back to 1977- Put on Hotel California..Crack open a Mickey's..And Bring your Pigtailed Girlfriend over to start a family....

    lol, Easier times then- Wasn't all about "Maximizing profits" off of people,Unlike Today.

    You want $300 a month Rents- You wont get em today- UNLESS youre out in the middle of nowhere Wyoming in a small house or trailer-

    You wanna be Near A shopping Center- Street Lights and Common things people take for granted- Its gonna be more.

    As for working at Wendy's...Thats For people that Live at home with parents-College kids-Or retired people with homes already paid for.

    Oh BTW- Not to put more salt in the wound- But Suicide rates are higher today than any other genre........

    If you decide to make Wendy's your career, that's fine, but then you have to be prepared to accept the fact that your wages will probably always be on the lower side of the spectrum. I'm sure Wendy's is a fine place to work, people in management might make a career of it, but not your average crew worker.

    Of course if you're working a minimum wage job, you're not flying solo. Maybe cheap is the wrong word. I will say cheaper than most. Many places want 1k or better.

    I sympathize with CMV1987 myself. I mean, I wasn't around in 1977. I was born in 1984. I've watched my hometown of Murfreesboro TN grow in into a borderline powerhouse for retail. Its become Nashville extended. The maximizing profits is from living in a capitalist society. You see that with truck stops. Pilot is buying out all the mom and pops. Loves are popping up every where. If you are loaded, it's tough to make it comfortably.

    I've never seen a "bad company" thread go into a debate about renting a living space, quite like this one. LOL

    I will say that I am paying mortgage and I am happy to own my home. (Yes, I understand that while I am paying my mortgage, the credit union technically holds my deed.) It is totally different than leasing a truck.

    Am I wrong in thinking the OP might want to get an attorney?
