    Greetings all!

I’ll be starting with my mentor at PAM this week. It said pack enough clothes for 8 days, and a list of other items.

My question is, how much is too much to pack?

My problem is, as a bigger guy, my clothes take up a lot of space, and I don’t want to be THAT guy who takes up the whole dang cab!

    Here’s what I packed:

    4 work pants
    8 work shirts
    4 personal shirts
    4 personal pants
    8 undergarments
    10 socks
    1 hat
    Flip flops
    Sneakers
    Boots
    Pens/pencils
    Chargers
    Kindle
    1 book
    Collapsible folder for papers
    Pocket flash light
Toiletry bag (fit in one of the duffles)

In all, I have two duffles, a sleeping bag, a compressed camping pillow, a water bottle and a flimsy plastic bag to hold my shower shoes/casual sneakers.

    Am I overpacking?

Walk into your bathroom with all that and lay it about. Now times that by 2. That's about how much room you have in a cab serving 2 people. Bare minimums man.

Too many pants, in my opinion. I plan a fresh pair every other day. Clean shirt daily. Laundry during your 34 hr reset will keep it up. So 5 or 6 shirts.

Also, are they still paying that crap 300.00 per week for training?

Looks fine to me. Just be prepared to sleep with all that in ur bunk at night. Some trainers dont like to share their truck

I think you are right on with your planning. As another member said, perhaps a few more pair of pants than you may need, BUT not a big problem. As a former trainer I appreciate that you have limited your luggage.

Next thing is what will you eat? When I went into training as a trainee I had a small duffle with basic food. Don't count on truck stops for eating. That will be expensive. Normally your trainer should get you to a Wal-Mart to replenish your stock of food at least once a week.

Less pants. More socks. Trust me, more socks.

If the truck has an inverter to plug a cooler into or a fridge in the truck, the trainer should be sharing that space with his student and stopping at Walmart's so the student, who is not making much money at all, can budget and eat decent. That's what a decent human being will do, anyways.

Also OP, if you guys fuel at Loves you can use rewards points for subway or chesters or other fast food restaurants they have. Again, if the trainer is a decent human being, he will let you swipe your rewards card on the fuel pump and not hog all the points for himself.

    7 work pants + Shirts

1 personal for a night out.

    14 under garments

    14 socks.

One winter full needs to be good to below -30

    One hot weather full

The clothes are common go into one laundry bag to make up one washer load. Similar colors so you don't turn everything pink with color loss...

    Thats it.
